Our Travel in Turkey, Historic Turkey Tour combines the tragic events of the First World War with the historical past of ancient Greek and Roman civilization. See the battlefields of Gallipoli, the final resting place of thousands of Turkish, Australian and New Zealand soldiers. Visit the ancient cities of Troy and Ephesus, where you can follow in the footsteps of Helen of Troy, Antony and Cleopatra, and Julius Caesar. Finish your Historic Turkey tour by bathing in the restorative thermal springs of Pammukale among the ancient Roman ruins.

Our air-conditioned minibus (max. 16 person) will pick you from your hotel between 06.00 and 07.00.We will depart for our Travel in Turkey Full Day Gallipoli Tour, travelling down the peninsula. After the journey of approx. 5 hours we will arrive in Eceabat where we will have lunch. At 13.00 we will set off to discover the battlefields of Gallipoli with our experienced guide. The tour will cover the highlights of the battlefields including Brighton Beach, Anzac Cove and the tragic reminders of the senselessness of war, the cemeteries. An emotional day, especially for the Australians, New Zealanders and Turkish people who lost so many in this desolate place. We will stay overnight in a boutique hotel in Eceabat.
After breakfast at the hotel we will depart at 08.00 on our Travel in Turkey Troy guided tour. Troy is estimated to be around 5000 years old. It is UNESCO World Heritage site and within the walls there is evidence of 9 phases of destruction and subsequent rebuilding of the city through the ages. You will be able to discover remains from its foundation circa 3000BC, to sacrificial altars and homes from the later Roman period. You can take photos in a replica of the famous Trojan Horse. At 10.30 we will depart by minibus for Bergama, which takes about 3 hours, where upon arrival we will have lunch before joining the Travel in Turkey Pergamon Acropolis guided tour. The ancient Greek city was a center of learning and arts and has a well preserved 10,000 seat amphitheater, with great views over the valley below. We will also visit the remains of the temple dedicated to Athena and Zeus, and the impressive library which once held 20000 books. At 15.30 we will depart for Selcuk and Kusadasi, a journey of about 3 hours, where we will book you into your boutique hotel for the night.
After breakfast at your hotel you will depart at 09.30 for a full day Ephesus tour. The tour includes the iconic remains of the wonderful city of Ephesus, with its famous library and amphitheater, and finally a visit to the House of the Virgin Mary, reputedly her final home. The tour will end at around 16.30 and you will have free time to discover the town and its many fish and seafood restaurants.
After breakfast we will leave at 08.30 for Pamukkale, a journey time of approx. 3 hours. After a lunch we will join our half day Travel in Turkey Pammukale Tour. You will have an unforgettable day wandering through the ancient Roman ruins and bathing in the natural heated mineral springs. You will have free time to spend in Cleopatra’s Pool, swimming between the sunken Roman columns, or looking around the town and having some dinner. At 21.00 we will transfer you from our office to the bus station for the trip back to Istanbul (approx. 10 hours).
The bus will arrive at approximately 07.30 at Istanbul’s main bus terminal. Your Travel in Turkey tour has now ended. You will be able to connect to Istanbul’s metro system or take a taxi to the centre.

Notes on bus travel in Turkey
Travelling by bus is an affordable but comfortable option in Turkey. All buses are fully air-conditioned and include on-board entertainment and WIFI. Water, coffee, tea, cools drinks and complimentary snacks are provided at regular intervals. Buses stop on average every three hours at roadhouses for meal and toilet breaks. Roadhouses also sell snacks, small goods and other general items. Breaks will be between 15-30 minutes. Please note buses depart promptly. Toilets cost 1TL.
