The lines between history and mythology become blurred when it comes to the city of Troy. The famous Siege of Troy, as depicted by Homer in the Iliad and Odyssey, is one of the most well known myths of the classical age. In 1870, ancient ruins believed to be those of Troy, were discovered and you will have a great opportunity to see these nine sites in the with our professional tour guide. The nine sites are actually archaeological layers that reveal the destruction and subsequent reconstruction of the city that occured through the ages, from the late stone age period (3500 BC) to to the time of the Romans (500 AD). They will illustrate the lifestyle and culture of the people in the settlement, and the archaeological and architectural features of the buildings at the site. You will hear fascinating stories of ancient times and may find yourself fantasizing about living during those days, while surrounded by the remains of mythical Troy.
