Turkey Landscapes blends the natural and architectural beauty of the region. Enjoy the natural and historic wonders of Goreme - the magical landscape, ancient underground cities, fairy chimneys and cave churches are all waiting for you. Stay overnight in your very own cave. Visit Turkey’s city of Whirling Dervishes, Konya, famous for its architecture dating back 1000 years when it was the capital of the Seljuk Empire. This tour is a fascinating overview of Turkey’s incredible history.
Please make your own way to our Istanbul office by 18:30, from where you will catch the shuttle transfer to the bus station. From there you will board the 20:30 overnight bus to Cappadocia. The journey from Istanbul to Cappadocia takes approximately 10 hours.
Arrival time at the main bus station of Nevşehir (in Cappadocia) is around 07:30. You will then board the free shuttle buses to Göreme, where upon arrival our guide will be waiting to assist your transfer to our main office in Göreme. You can leave your luggage safely in our office for the day as at 09.30 you will join our small group tour of Northern Cappadocia (minibus, max. 16 persons). We will visit the Göreme Open Air Museum, the old city of Avanos, the Red River, followed by a warm welcome at a Boutique Cave Hotel – which will be your accommodation for the night. You will also have the opportunity to discover the town and local restaurants during the day.
Don’t forget that while in Cappadocia, you will have the opportunity to take an unforgettable Hot-Air Balloon tour. You will have to make a very early start, but it could be one of the most memorable parts of your holiday in Turkey.
After breakfast we will transfer you to the bus station at 8.00am for the 3.5 hour bus trip to Konya, the former capital of the Seljuk Empire. With history dating back to the third millenium BC, The region of Konya has been under the rule of the Hittites, Phrygians, Greeks, Persians and Romans. It was conquered by the Seljuk Turks in the 11th century. One of Konza's main attractions is the tomb of Rumi (Mevlana), who's acolytes established the Mevlevi Sufi order, now universally known as the Whirling Dervishes. Our guide will meet you at the bus station to commence your private tour of the city. You will also get to enjoy some of the outstanding Seljuk architecture. You will have some free time before we transfer you at 19.30 for the 20.30 overnight bus to Istanbul. (approx.10 hours).
The bus will arrive at Istanbul’s main bus terminal at approximately 07.30. This is the end of our Travel in Turkey Tour. You will be able to connect to Istanbul’s Metro system or take a taxi to the centre.
