You will be picked up from your hotel, or Denizli airport, and be guided by our private guide during the tour. You will have chance to see following sights of the region and be fascinated by their beauty and the evocative history of these sights:
Karahayit Red Springs: The calcium-rich natural springs are rich in iron and sulfur which leave reddish metallic deposits as they leave the ground, over thousands of years these deposits formed the terraces with their remarkable shapes. The Pamukkale region is now under protection as a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site and it is a ‘must see’ for a touristic journey.
Hierapolis: The city of Hierapolis was founded in 190 B.C. by Eumenes II as part of the great Empire of Pergamum and was probably named after Hiera, the wife of the legendary founder of Pergamum. The city’s development has reached its peak under Romans. Around the city, there are many ancient ruins such as, Necropolis, Bath and Basilica, Frontinius Gate, Frontinius Street, Latrina, Northern Byzantine Gate, Fountain of the Tritons and the Temple of Apollon.
Travertines: The unusual geological feature of the Travertines are shaped by an underground water source which causes streams of thermal water to flow over and down the cliffs, shaping little thermal pools. The calcium bicarbonate saturated water cools in the pools and the calcium solidifies and becomes a hard white chalk like substance. You are welcome to walk in and let the water soothe your bare feet.
Ancient Theatre,
Cleopatra Thermal Pool: You will have a chance in your free time to swim in the Cleopatra Antique Thermal Pool so do not forget to bring your swimsuits with you and enjoy the healing waters.
