Tour Details

Explore the culinary delights of Turkey with our Private Istanbul Walking Food Tour, a must-do for any "Travel in Turkey" itinerary. This tour goes beyond the typical kebab to introduce you to a wide array of Turkish cuisine, from the famous baklava to the lesser-known but equally delicious Turkish delights.

Venture off the beaten path to experience the authentic flavors of Istanbul, immersing yourself in local markets and sampling a variety of Turkish delicacies. Along the way, you'll gain insights into Turkish history and culture, and admire Istanbul's distinctive architecture.
The tour kicks off with a visit to the Spice Market, a historical hub where locals have been sourcing spices for centuries. Stroll from the Galata Bridge to Karakoy for a traditional Turkish breakfast, featuring dishes like menemen, sucuklu omlet, and kaymak with honey. Next, take the metro to Pera and wander along the bustling Istiklal Street, where you'll pause for a tea break and learn to play backgammon.
In the afternoon, hop on a ferry to Kadikoy on the Asian side of Istanbul, known as Kalkedon in ancient times. Here, you can try Mersin's tantuni or, for the more adventurous, a liver wrap. Continue to the fish market to sample stuffed or fried mussels and a variety of pickles—a staple in Turkish cuisine.
No Turkish food tour would be complete without indulging in Turkish coffee and desserts. After satisfying your sweet tooth, catch the ferry back to the European side of Istanbul, where your gastronomic journey concludes. This tour promises to fulfill your culinary dreams, whether you're a food expert or simply a food lover.
